Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience and an active Illinois RN license.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
- 13-week contract assignment
- Day shift schedule from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- 40 hours per week across 5 days
- Weekend shifts required
- Holiday shifts required
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Experience with OR suite preparation, patient positioning, patient transport, and surgical team support required
- EPIC charting experience required
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to a designated group of surgical patients using the nursing process
- Prepare OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures
- Perform patient identification using two identifiers and conduct timeouts at key points during procedures
- Position and prep patients for surgical procedures using appropriate positioning aids and guidelines
- Support the surgical team during procedures by responding to requests for supplies, blood, specimens, cultures, and medications
- Transport patients to PACU or appropriate unit and provide handoff report to receiving RN
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care provided
- Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Requested time off may not exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
