Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring an active NM or compact RN license and prior OR experience.
Details
- Operating Room setting within the Surgery department
- Surgical patient population includes Orthopedic, General, Podiatry, GYN/OB (including C-Sections), Pain Management, Urology, and Endoscopy cases
- Schedule of 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
- Shift hours from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Full-time contract, 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of NM (or compact) required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
- Verbal CPI certification required upon hire
- BSN preferred
- 1 year of experience in the OR nursing specialty preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Basic computer proficiency required
Additional Information
- Provide direct, independent nursing care to surgical patients and their families throughout the perioperative process
- Collaborate with physicians, staff, and management to address patient needs and interpret hospital policies
- Serve as a patient advocate while respecting cultural and religious beliefs
- Participate in departmental quality activities and ongoing competency training
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local candidate consideration
- Previous CHRISTUS Health employees must be separated from the system for at least 6 months before starting a new travel assignment
