Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment on a telemetry unit requiring 2 years of experience and a TN or compact RN license.
Details
- 28-bed Medical Telemetry unit (4 West) within a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Supported by Clinical Coordinators, Unit Secretary, PCTs, and Case Management
- Uses equipment such as walkers, IV pumps, and SCDs
- Charting completed in Meditech
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Required to work 4 weekend shifts per 28-day schedule
- Falls into holiday rotation coverage
- Floating required as part of unit staffing rotation
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
- Experience with respiratory, renal, and GI conditions, telemetry, CVCs, indwelling catheters, and heparin drips required
- Oncology and general surgery experience preferred but not required
- Strong teamwork, compassion, collaboration, and communication skills required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
- One professional reference required for consideration
- No employment gaps of 90 days within the past 12 months allowed
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg telemetry unit handling a variety of complex medical conditions
- Utilize communication boards to help meet unit patient experience goals
- Required to wear navy blue scrubs
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible (no local candidates accepted)
