Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment at a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience.
Details
- 4A Surg/Onc unit providing care for orthopedic, urology, general surgery, oncology, and medical patients
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every third weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within the same discipline across local campuses
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (IA or Compact)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
- NIHSS certification required (may be obtained during onboarding)
- 2 years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience required
- High-acuity care experience preferred
- Required experience administering Heparin, PCA, and epidural drips
- Chemo drip experience required if certified
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Skills checklist specific to Med Surg required for consideration
- One supervisory reference/performance evaluation from within the last two years required for consideration

- Navy blue scrub color required
- Winter holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
- Limited time-off requests permitted during the winter holiday period
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply; prior travel experience preferred
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH market within the past 12 months unless their prior work was itself a travel assignment
