Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Ortho/Neuro Unit night shift position requiring an active WI or compact RN license and NIHSS certification.
Details
- Work in the Ortho/Neuro Unit of a hospital and trauma center
- Med-Surg patient population with orthopedic and neurological cases
- 13-week assignment on night shift (6:30P-7A)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required
- Floating to other units may be required
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Education verification required for consideration
Additional Information
- Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy
- Provide patient and family education as part of the care plan
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
- Offer clinical expertise and guidance to other units in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care
- Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
