Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience and a TX or compact RN license
Details
- Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
- Medical Surgical patient population
- Telemetry monitored via a centralized unit
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12, 19:00-7:30
- Floating required
- Unit supported by a free-floating charge nurse, dedicated Patient Care Technicians, Patient Transporters, and a house discharge nurse who floats across departments
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Active RN license (TX State or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience required
- Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
- Epic charting experience required
- Skills in isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
Additional Information
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
- Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Onboarding requires completion of core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing
