Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1-2 years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

- , 3x12-hour night shifts from 19:00-07:00 in a Med/Surg Tele unit
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Weekend shifts required as needed
- Requires either 2 on-call shifts or 2 additional shifts per 6-week period
- Block scheduling is not accommodated
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license required (pending license accepted if obtained before start)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred, 1 year considered case-by-case
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIHSS
- Orthopedic and spine experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Recent Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team involvement
- Must be able to pass a cardiac dysrhythmia test and medication test on the first day of orientation
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and management of central/peripheral lines
- May involve wound care, isolation precautions/PPE use, and management of respiratory and GI needs such as chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and feeding tubes
- Must pass a cardiac dysrhythmia and medication test with only one attempt allowed during orientation
- May be required to shave facial hair to meet fit testing requirements for respiratory protection
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible to return as travelers
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application; later requests will not be considered
- Attendance policy in effect: missing more than two shifts during the 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review or cancellation
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
