Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 42-bed unit specializing in complex patients, requiring a valid KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Details
- 42-bed telemetry unit (5G/H) specializing in complex patients with multiple co-morbidities, palliative care, colorectal surgeries with progressive ERAS protocols, and MDRO patients
- Patient population includes transfers from the ICU, ED, and PACU
- Night shift schedule: 3x12s, 7p–7a
- 5–6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (equivalent to approximately 3 weekend shifts per contract period)
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state
- Current BLS certification required
- Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety interventions
- Proficiency with computer systems and clinical applications, or ability to be trained

- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care centered on the whole patient and a healing environment
- Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, patient and family education, and facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams and delegate tasks appropriately to support optimal patient outcomes
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
