Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry/PCU/Stepdown position in Rock Island, IL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and proficiency with cardiac drips and specialized procedures.
Details
- Level 1 trauma center hospital setting in Rock Island, IL
- Med/Surg Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and Stepdown patient population
- Cardiac and open heart patient experience preferred
- Specialized procedures include chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines
- Vasoactive and cardiac drip management including amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, insulin, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, Isuprel, milrinone, and argatroban with some titration
- EMR: Epic
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM – 6:00 AM)
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating within the same discipline across local campuses may be required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration; IA RN license also required (if not active, proof of application for IA single-state or compact RN license must be provided)
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Chest tube, femstop, trach, CBI, drain, and central line experience required
- Experience managing cardiac drips with titration required
- Cardiac and open heart experience preferred
- At least 1 completed travel contract preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- One supervisory reference from within 2 years of employment or contract required for consideration
- Must have a taxable home address more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
- Cannot have been employed by UnityPoint Health within the last 12 months
Additional Information
- Contributes professional and clinical knowledge in the provision and management of care to patients as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced rate
- Required to work 1–2 of 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day
- Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- RTO is limited to 1 day during the Thanksgiving holiday week and 1 day during the Christmas/New Year's holiday period
