Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 2 years of experience and proficiency with advanced cardiac drips and specialized procedures across multiple hospital settings in Illinois and Iowa.
Details
- Multiple hospital settings across Illinois and Iowa, ranging from Level 1 to Level 4 trauma centers depending on location
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring
- Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required for this role
- Vasoactive and specialty drip management including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban with some titration responsibilities
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration; IA RN license also required (may be pending at start but must be obtained)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (both AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Proficiency with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required
- Experience managing vasoactive and specialty IV drips with titration
- One supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 2 years required
- Valid driver's license required

- Candidates must not have been employed by UnityPoint Health within the last 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for standard travel rates
- Travelers are required to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving
- RTO is limited to 1 day during the Thanksgiving week (11/26–11/30) and the Christmas/New Year's period (12/23–1/2), regardless of holidays worked
