Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in a geriatric LTC/SNF psych setting in South Dakota, with BSN and Point Click Care experience required.
Details
- Long-term care/skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) setting with 55 beds
- Geriatric patient population including dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia — facility operates a dedicated behavioral health program
- Night shift schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM on a 12-hour block scheduling rotation
- Every other weekend required; holidays required if they fall within your contract block
- Overnight nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:45; daytime ratio approximately 1:23
- Med aide support available from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM; solo nurse coverage from 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- EMR: Point Click Care (PCC) — experience required
- No on-call or call-back responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license — SD state license or Compact license required and must be active at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
- BSN required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required — no exceptions
- Current BLS certification required (active copies required; pending certifications not accepted)
- Geriatric psych or LTC psych experience preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- Orientation includes a facility tour, competency assessments, and the opportunity to shadow 1–2 shifts
- Most skilled and COVID-related charting is completed on the day shift; night shift responsibilities are adjusted accordingly
- Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and are eligible at a adjusted rate
- 2-week notice required if ending the contract early
