Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a SD or compact RN license.
Details
- Post-acute LTC/SNF setting within a 55-bed geriatric psych facility
- Elder population including dementia patients and a smaller group managing schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or paranoia through an established behavioral program
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:45 overnight and 1:23 during the day, with a med aide present from 6am-10pm
- Uses Point Click Care (PCC) EMR
- 12-hour day shifts with block scheduling
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required if it falls within the assigned block schedule
- No on-call or call-back responsibilities
- 36 guaranteed hours per week for 12-hour shifts
Requirements
- Active RN license (SD or compact) required
- BSN required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Geri psych or LTC psych experience preferred
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, both including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to an elderly population including dementia and behavioral health diagnoses within a geri psych LTC facility
- Most skilled and COVID-related charting is completed during the day shift
- Facility-specific orientation includes training, a facility tour, competency reviews, and the opportunity to shadow 1-2 shifts
- Candidates must reside within an 80-mile radius or accept a local adjusted rate
