Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Infusion Services position requiring an active Alaska RN license and at least 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
Details
- Outpatient infusion services setting within a hospital environment
- Schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no lunch break) or 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM (with 30-minute lunch break)
- 13-week contract
- Infusion patient population including oncology and specialty IV therapy cases
- Administers specialty IV fluids via peripherally or centrally placed catheters using infusion order sets
- Maintains CVC, PICC, and other IV access devices per INS/ONS and facility guidelines
- Operates IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, non-invasive blood pressure machines, and AED equipment
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Alaska RN license currently in hand — required at time of submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required
- Prior infusion or specialty nursing experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medication inventory systems
Additional Information
- Coordinates and manages infusion patient referrals, appointment scheduling, and continuity of care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Communicates patient condition, drug reactions, and treatment updates to referring providers and documents all pertinent information in the patient chart
- Ensures prior authorizations are initiated as needed for infusion services
- Educates patients and families on post-discharge care and infusion therapy follow-up
- Fingerprint card processing is required prior to start — candidates should be prepared to submit fingerprints promptly upon acceptance to avoid start date delays
- Clinical competency assessment required within 3 months of start and every 3 years thereafter
- Participates in staff meetings, quality management activities, and ongoing professional education programs
