Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Nurse Manager for a Chemo/Immunotherapy department, requiring an active AK RN license and prior supervisory experience.

• Hospital-based position overseeing a Chemo/Immunotherapy department
• 13-week assignment with Monday through Friday day shifts
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• Oversight of clinical operations, staffing, budgeting, and department performance

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted AK RN license required at time of submittal
• BLS/ACLS certification required; PALS and NRP preferred
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 5 years of professional nursing experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a staff RN in immunotherapy/chemo required
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience required
• Flu vaccine required
• Experience with EHR systems required as a super user
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word required

Additional Information

• Oversee nursing operations, staffing, and budget management for the assigned department
• Coordinate new staff orientation, preceptor selection, and ongoing staff performance evaluations
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as Joint Commission and CMS requirements
• Able to assume the role of Acting Chief Nursing Officer in the CNO's absence when needed
• Participate in Nurse Executive Committee meetings and departmental goal setting
• Address employee and patient concerns in collaboration with Human Resources and hospital leadership
• Able to step into direct patient care roles as needed based on department demands
• No RTO permitted during the initial 13-week contract
