Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Inpatient Care Coordinator with a minimum of 8 years of clinical experience and an active Alaska RN license for a 13-week travel contract.

- Caseload involves reviewing admissions, managing patient progression, and coordinating discharge planning
- Involves collaboration with physicians, clinical care teams, and leadership to ensure appropriate, cost-effective care

Requirements
- Active Alaska RN license required at time of consideration
- BSN required
- Minimum 8 years of clinical care or nursing experience, with at least 3 years in chart review, risk management, or a related quality service role
- BLS certification required
- Case Management certification from a recognized certifying organization (e.g., NCQA, CCMC) preferred
- Knowledge of medical necessity review, ICD-9 and CPT coding, and CMS regulations
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease concepts
- Strong written, oral, and organizational communication skills
- Flu vaccine required
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include reviewing patient records, monitoring appropriateness and necessity of hospitalization, length of stay, and quality of care
- Coordinates with payers, processes appeal requests, and maintains utilization review and appeal logs
- Supports quality review activities including tumor registry functions
- Facilitates educational programs for physicians and departments on UM/CM regulations
- No supervisory responsibilities associated with this position
- Due to fingerprint processing requirements, candidates should be prepared to schedule and submit fingerprint cards promptly upon acceptance to avoid delays in start date
