Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU/Step-Down position requiring 2 years of ICU experience and a commitment to weekend and holiday rotations.
Details
- hospital-based 20-bed mixed ICU/Step-Down unit
- Handles severe respiratory failure, sepsis/septic shock, hemodynamic instability, non-surgical neurologic conditions, complex metabolic/endocrine disorders, cardiac conditions, and GI/hepatic failure
- Patient ratios of 2:1 for ICU and 3:1 for Step-Down
- Floating required to sister unit 5S to cover Step-Down 1:3 or progressive-level patients at 4:1
- Weekend and holiday rotation commitment required
- Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license (IN or compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification through AHA
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Experience with continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, arterial lines, and titrated IV medications (vasopressors, sedatives, insulin, antiarrhythmics)
- Experience with mechanical ventilation, noninvasive ventilation, and advanced oxygen therapies
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to a complex, high-acuity ICU/Step-Down patient population
- Manage patients requiring enteral or parenteral nutrition, frequent lab monitoring, and complex medication regimens
- Radius rule applies, with local candidates accepted at a reduced rate depending on facility location
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
