Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a valid CA license, 5 years of ED experience, and travel experience for a 13-week contract position at a community hospital.
Details
- Emergency Department (ED) setting in a community hospital
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Every other weekend required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills required include triage, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and isolation precautions/PPE
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC — all must be issued by AHA or ARC
- Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Two supervisory references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
- Returning travelers or staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning in a travel capacity
- RTO is capped at 7 days per contract; only 1 holiday per contract may be requested off
- Holidays with coverage expectations include: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day (holiday period begins at 7:00 PM the night before and ends at 7:00 AM the day after)
- 7-year work history verification is required for all candidates
