Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Ottumwa, IA, requiring a minimum of 1-2 years of acute care experience and night shift availability.
Details
- Work setting is a regional health center with 217 licensed beds and a 17-bed Emergency Department
- Patient population is primarily adults and geriatrics, averaging approximately 40 visits per day
- Patient ratio is 1:6
- EMR system is MediTech
- Night shift: 7p-7a
- Every other weekend required
- On-call coverage required to support daily volume and 24/7 call coverage needs
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active IA RN license or Compact RN license required
- Current AHA certifications: BLS and ACLS required
- TNCC certification required
- Minimum 1-2 years of acute care experience required
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Iowa SING background check (criminal and child abuse portions) required — no instant or statewide searches accepted
- 10-panel drug screening including opiates required
- Mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult) required
- Titers from within the last 12 months required (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB)
Additional Information
- Candidate's primary address must be located more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere while on assignment
- All background checks must be fully cleared prior to start date
- Monday or Tuesday start dates available
- Experience as a traveler or in a similar-sized facility is preferred
