Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pacemaker Electrophysiology (EP) position requiring IBHRE certification, cardiac device management experience, and a Montana or compact RN license.
Details
- Outpatient device clinic setting focused on cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs)
- Patient population includes individuals with pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and complex cardiac arrhythmias requiring device management and follow-up
- Works with device platforms from major manufacturers including Biotronik, Medtronic, Abbott (formerly St. Jude Medical), and Boston Scientific
- Performs diagnostic testing including EKGs, event monitors, Holter monitors, and Zio Patch application and data processing
- Day shift, 9-hour shifts, 4 days per week (0.9 FTE)
- On-call may be required to respond to organizational or patient needs
- Weekend and after-hours shifts may be required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Montana RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)
- International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification required
- BSN required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, with 2 years preferred
- Hands-on experience managing CIEDs including pacemakers and ICDs
- Proficiency with device platforms from Biotronik, Medtronic, Abbott, and Boston Scientific
- Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia management and ECG/EKG interpretation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, reaching, and fine motor work on a continuous or repeated basis
- Candidates must reside at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Interrogates and programs CIEDs, monitors patient response to device therapy, and manages remote device monitoring
- Coordinates and schedules surgical and procedural interventions related to CIEDs
- Collaborates with radiology, surgical, anesthesia, and other interdisciplinary teams for patients undergoing MRI, surgical procedures, or other interventions requiring device management
- Maintains device clinic databases and patient records for accurate documentation and continuity of care
- Provides patient and family education on CIEDs, arrhythmia management, and electrophysiology-related procedures including ablation therapy
- Participates in quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and departmental initiatives
- Work environment involves continuous exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, infectious diseases, and emotionally challenging situations
