Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) for a night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 1 year of critical care experience.
Details
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7pm-7am, weekdays with some weekends required
- Critical Care and General Care patient populations, including Adult and/or Pediatric cases
- Floating within scope required as needed, including to sister facilities
- No on-call requirements
- Cerner charting system used
- Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
Requirements
- RRT or CRT certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (NALS required for Peds)
- License required if applicable
- Pending state license accepted
- Skills in airway management, suctioning, intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy care, nebulizer therapy, oxygen therapy, and ventilator management required
- Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, and mechanical ventilation weaning required
Additional Information
- Work at a Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital affiliated with the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted; radius rule of 100 miles applies to travelers, with exceptions considered for 75-100 miles on a case-by-case basis
- RTO requests must be submitted two weeks prior to the next schedule and approved by management
- Former CAMC permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
- Current Vandalia Health System employees (including PRN) are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption documented; not required outside this window
- COVID vaccine not required
- Fit testing required in advance using an approved mask, which may require travel up to 100 miles
- Free parking garage available for travelers
