Description
American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of adult outpatient experience for a 13-week outpatient rehab assignment in Juneau, Alaska.
Details
- Outpatient physical therapy setting serving adult patients with a wide range of diagnoses and functional conditions
- Works with both inpatient and outpatient populations in various settings as assigned
- Schedule is 40 hours per week; shifts vary Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–6:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM–1:00 PM
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in adult outpatient rehab required
- Entry-level qualifying master's or doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program required; or a master's or bachelor's degree from an APTA-approved program with 2 years of proven work and continuing education experience demonstrating doctoral-level competency
- Active Alaska PT license required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid driver's license required
- Flu vaccination required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include PT evaluations, treatment planning, and implementation across a wide range of diagnoses and patient needs
- Oversees and directs the work of Physical Therapist Assistants, support staff, students, and interns
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, referring providers, and care conferences to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
- Develops and delivers patient and family education including home exercise programs with return demonstration
- Assists with durable medical equipment (DME) acquisition, fitting, and delivery coordination
- Maintains familiarity with billing procedures for Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers
- Adheres to APTA regulatory and practice standards
- Provides in-services, therapy consultations, and presentations to medical and interdisciplinary staff as assigned
