American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a 343-bed designated trauma center in Overland Park, KS, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and a KS or compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Operating Room (Perioperative unit) of a 343-bed acute care hospital
- Full spectrum of surgical procedures performed, including abdominal, cardiovascular, colon/rectal, ENT, gynecological, joint replacement, maternal-fetal, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, oral/maxillofacial, orthopedic/sports medicine, pediatrics, plastic and reconstructive, robotics, spine, thoracic, trauma, urological, and vascular
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Charting performed in Meditech
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; on-call required
- Set schedules with shift options of 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts based on availability
- Floating is not required (except in rare circumstances)
- 13-week contract
- Active KS RN license or valid compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR/perioperative RN experience required
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC required (must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- This facility is the only designated trauma center in Johnson County, verified by the American College of Surgeons, and is equipped to treat life-threatening injuries 24/7
- Hospital holds numerous accreditations including JCAHO Gold Seal of Approval, Primary Stroke Center certification, Chest Pain accreditation, Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement, and Commission on Cancer Accreditation, among others
- Hospital-laundered scrubs are provided by the department
- Friendly, team-based culture with staff ranging from new graduates to 30 years of experience
- New grad travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
