American Traveler is seeking a NICU RN for a Level IV NICU position at an academic Level I Trauma teaching facility in New Mexico, requiring at least 2 years of Level IV NICU experience and NRP certification.
Details- Mixed acuity Level IV NICU within a Level I Trauma, academic teaching children's hospital with 554 staffed beds
- Patient population includes neonates ranging from under 23 weeks gestation through full-term newborns
- Required to care for Level IV NICU acuity patients, including those with Respiratory Distress Syndrome and ventilator-dependent needs
- Specialized skills utilized include IV vasopressors, High Frequency Ventilation, High Flow NC, and ventilator management
- Float requirements include Pediatric ICU, Level II NICU, and Mother-Baby Unit (MBU)
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- 12 weekend shifts required per contract
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charting performed in Cerner
- Active NM RN license or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
- Certifications required: BLS and NRP
- Minimum 2 years of Level IV NICU experience required
- Proficiency with IV vasopressors, High Frequency Ventilation, High Flow NC, and ventilator management required
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with a completed exemption form signed by a provider
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Floating is required within scope to Pediatric ICU, Level II NICU, and MBU as needed to meet facility needs
- Scrub color required: black
- Parking is available at no cost
- RTO requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
- A 6-month break is required for travelers who have completed 4 consecutive assignments or reached the one-year mark at this facility, whichever comes first
- New contracts and extensions must be a minimum of 10 weeks
- All scheduling and time-off requests should be submitted at the time of initial application for consideration
