Description
American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with 1 year of experience performing advanced mammography procedures, including stereotactic biopsies and clip placements, in an outpatient imaging setting.
Details
- Mammography department within a hospital-based imaging setting
- 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, with 2 Saturday shifts required within the contract period
- 40 hours per week
- Procedures include radiographic mammography exams, stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, drainages, and other advanced mammography procedures
- Charting via Epic EMR
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in mammography
- ARRT (R)(M) certification required, including ARRT Advanced Mammography Certification
- Active UT state Rad Tech license required (license required if applicable)
- Current AHA BLS certification required; must not expire prior to assignment start
- Must meet and maintain ACR FDA/MQSA mammography-specific requirements
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) required for this assignment
- Proficiency in radiation protection, record maintenance, documentation, and imaging
- Physical ability to lift, push/pull, stand, walk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity
- DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Performs radiographic mammography exams per department protocol, producing high-quality diagnostic images for detection of breast tissue abnormalities
- Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation prior to each exam
- Provides patient education on breast self-examinations through verbal guidance and written materials
- Applies radiation protection practices in compliance with ALARA program requirements
- Maintains records per JCAHO and Utah State Bureau of Radiation Control standards, including time stamps and image storage
- Works independently, applying judgment, creativity, and initiative across a variety of procedures
- Candidates who are permanent staff of an Intermountain facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- Providers are encouraged to use an existing radiation dosimeter badge from a previous employer or assignment to maintain a continuous exposure history; if a new badge is issued, prior exposure history will not be carried over
