American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Long Term Care (LTC) position in Seward, Alaska, requiring prior travel nursing experience and an active Alaska RN license in hand.
Details- Long Term Care (LTC) facility with 40 total staffed beds
- Patient ratio of 1:20
- Schedule is 4x12 or 3x12 variable hours — traveler's choice of days or nights (shift assignment dependent on facility needs at time of start)
- Day shift hours: 7:00–19:30; Night shift hours: 19:00–7:30
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope between all facilities within the state is required — refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- Charting system: ECS
- Contract length is traveler's choice: 13 or 26 weeks
- Active Alaska RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of LTC nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required to operate a facility-provided vehicle
- Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Provide nursing care to long-term care patients in an LTC facility setting
- All travelers are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification, which is completed on-site during orientation — a one-time $10 fee applies
- Scrubs: any color accepted
- Free parking on-site
- The facility arranges a vehicle for traveler use while on assignment — vehicle is for local use only (within 30-mile radius) and must be returned during any time off
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates are not accepted — permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- For a 26-week contract, no more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered; traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration — RTO requested after an offer or contract signing will not be considered
- Block schedules are not available for this position
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting are required for consideration
