American Traveler is hiring an Inpatient Rehab Occupational Therapist with 2 years of experience, including CVA experience, for a 13-week day shift contract at an academic rehabilitation hospital in Maryland.
Details- Inpatient rehabilitation unit within an academic hospital setting
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00–16:30), 40 hours per week
- Average daily census of 44.5 patients
- Primary patient population includes traumatic brain injuries, CVA, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic/rehabilitation diagnoses
- Weekend requirement: one weekend per month (approximately every third weekend)
- Holiday coverage required as holidays fall on the schedule
- Floating to like units may be required as needed
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years of OT inpatient rehabilitation experience
- CVA rehabilitation experience required
- Active Maryland OT license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification (AHA only) required
- Proficiency in activities of daily living, adaptive equipment, wheelchair evaluation and positioning, and cognitive assessment
- Experience with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, coma management, and hand injury preferred
- Comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version) may be required as part of compliance onboarding
- Candidates must live 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals within 50 miles are not accepted
- Return travelers must have been away from the health system for at least 6 months after completing a prior assignment; former staff must have been separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- Max 7 days of RTO may be requested; requests for more than 4 consecutive days will require an additional week added to the contract
- This is an auto-offer position — candidates must be prepared to accept without an interview
- Schedule restrictions cannot be requested or guaranteed
- Travelers are first to float when floating is needed
