Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 16-week night shift contract in Plattsburgh, NY, requiring ARRT CT certification, NYS DOH venipuncture certification, and Epic EMR experience.
Details
- Work in a hospital-based radiology CT department with 2 Philips CT scanner rooms on the main campus
- Patient population spans all ages (0–100) with cases including chest, abdomen, pelvis, head, C-spine, and PE studies
- Unit performs approximately 40 CTs per 24-hour period
- Techs perform IV injections as part of routine duties
- Respiratory therapy and anesthesia are available 24/7 for patient support
- Epic is used for documentation; PbXIS is used for medication management
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
- Schedule runs Monday through Sunday; no block scheduling
- Weekend coverage required as scheduled
- Call and holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Floating to other units is not required
- This is a Level 3 trauma facility
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of CT clinical experience required
- ARRT (CT) certification required
- NYS DOH venipuncture certification required
- NY state license required; candidates with proof of pending application and applied date will be considered (note: NY licensing typically takes 6–8 weeks)
- Epic experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Two professional references required — at least one from a supervisor or nurse manager within the past 6 months, and one from within the past year
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- 14-day orientation provided; bi-weekly orientations begin on Mondays
- Gray scrubs required; closed-toe shoes, no flip flops
- Jewelry must not interfere with work; hair and facial hair must be properly secured, and facial hair must permit proper fit of a respirator
- Scheduling is not self-directed
- Public transportation is not accessible in this area — a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended
- Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- Candidates living within 50 miles, 51–100 miles, and 101 miles are each subject to different pay rate tiers based on straight-line distance from the facility
