Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for a diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab, requiring BLS, ACLS, and either ARRT (R) or RCIS certification.
Details
- Diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab setting
- Adult patient population
- Performs diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, IABP placement/removal, temporary pacemaker insertion, and PA line insertion
- Utilizes fluoroscopy and GE Innova IGS imaging equipment
- Uses Cerner EMR system
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
- Floating required in accordance with facility floating policy and clinical competency
- On-call required at least 15 weekdays per month (4:30 PM-7:00 AM) plus 48-hour call every other weekend and PRN
- Holiday coverage required on a PRN basis
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- ARRT (R) or CCI RCIS certification required
- License required if applicable
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in EKG lead placement, access site preparation, and maintaining sterile field while scrubbing
- Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring and recognition/interpretation of dysrhythmias and life-threatening arrhythmias
- Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, equipment set-up, and maintaining sterile field during procedures
- Maintains cath lab equipment, manages inventory, and stocks supplies
- Follows isolation precautions/PPE protocols and participates in rapid response/code team activities as needed
- Travelers requesting time off during designated holiday weeks will not be accommodated; holiday RTO requests may be addressed with the manager after arrival onsite
- Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced rate
- Candidates living more than 75 miles from the facility qualify for standard travel rate
- Previous perm staff cannot return to the same campus within 24 months, but may return to a different campus within the health system after 12 months
