Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with experience in cardiac cath and at least one additional modality (Interventional Radiology, Vascular, or Neuro) for a 13-week day shift contract at a short-term acute care hospital.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 180 staffed beds
- Cardiac Cath Lab unit covering both diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Procedures include cardiac catheterization, PCI, PTCA, left and right heart catheterization, rotablator atherectomy, IABP placement/removal, and cardiac implant/closure device procedures
- Patient population includes middle and older adults
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Call required on a case-by-case basis based on unit need; schedule to be discussed with nurse manager
- Floating required within clinical scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities (up to 3 hospitals within approximately 20 miles)
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of Cath Lab experience required; 2 years preferred
- Experience in at least two of the following four modalities required: Cardiac Cath, Interventional Radiology, Vascular, or Neuro — must be reflected in work history
- Active BLS and ACLS (AHA) required
- ARRT (R) required; CCI RCIS preferred; RCVT/RCVT certification also preferred
- Proficiency in scrub procedures, sterile field maintenance, equipment setup, and room circulation
- Experience with IABP, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two references from a direct supervisor, manager, ANM, or director required for consideration
- Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- License required if applicable
- Must be nicotine-free — negative 10-panel drug screen including cotinine (nicotine) required
Additional Information
- Scrub Technologist responsibilities include maintaining sterile field, scrubbing for procedures, and serving as room circulator
- Responsibilities also include infection control, isolation precautions/PPE compliance, and age-specific competency for middle and older adult patients
- Time-sensitive compliance modules must be completed prior to start; modules are non-billable and average 6–15 hours
- EKG and pharmacology tests are required during orientation with a maximum of 2 attempts each — travelers who do not pass will be cancelled
- Ceil blue scrubs required

- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront — RTO requests added after submission will likely not be approved
- Former permanent or per diem staff at Cleveland Clinic are not eligible to return for 1 year from their previous end date
