Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist for a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of cardiac cath lab experience and ARRT/RCIS certification.
Details
- Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab setting
- Adult and older adult patient population
- 4x12 or 3x12 day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Will work 2-3 weekends per contract
- On-call required as needed, rotating with staff and agency, with flexibility based on census
- Dedicated call team available to support staff
- No IR duties involved
- No floating outside of scope required
- Cerner EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Cath Lab required
- BLS, ACLS, RCIS, and ARRT (preferred) certifications required
- License required if applicable
- Cerner charting experience required
- Experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures required
- Skills required include cardiac implant closure device, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy
- Experience with equipment setup, scrubbing, and maintaining sterile field required
- Ability to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and interpret dysrhythmias required
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE required
- Active Illinois license must be in hand at time of consideration

- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
- Previous perm or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO ideally no more than 5 days
- Candidates must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- Parking permit required at no cost, arranged during orientation
