American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with acute care experience for a 13-week travel contract at a teaching, Level IV trauma, short-term acute care hospital in Arizona, working a 4x10 schedule Sunday through Wednesday.
Details- Short-term acute care hospital setting with a teaching designation and Level IV trauma status
- PT department is open 7 days a week; a weekend day will be required
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, Sunday through Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Average daily census of 11 patients
- Patient population includes medical diagnoses requiring moderate to maximum assist; experience with ventilated patients is preferred
- May be asked to float to surrounding outpatient clinics
- Charting is done in Cerner
- No on-call requirements
- Free parking available on site
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care physical therapy experience
- Active Arizona PT license required prior to start; compact-eligible candidates will be considered
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required — note that obtaining an AZ PT license requires a fingerprint clearance card, with the full licensure process estimated to take 7–12 weeks
- License required if applicable
- Generalist background preferred with confidence treating a variety of medical diagnoses
- Ability to manage moderate to maximum assist patients and co-treatments
- Experience working with ventilated patients preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly and take on additional evaluations throughout the day
- Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of acute care patients, co-treatments, and managing additional evaluations as they arise throughout the day
- Business casual attire required (no specific scrub color)
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; unit manager approval is required for any scheduling requests

- All staff are expected to adhere to facility quality and patient safety standards, including medication administration protocols (BCMA)
