Fundraising Data Specialist, American Technion Society – New York Metro Region (Hybrid: 3 days week in person)

Your Role

The Fundraising Data Specialist must be knowledgeable of data standards and best practices as they relate to fundraising. This role requires them to be an expert in Raiser’s Edge with advanced data management and reporting skills, strong communication skills, and an interest in fundraising. They will work closely with major gifts officers, senior staff, and various departments to identify and execute opportunities to further leverage Raiser’s Edge to achieve the organization’s mission.

The Data Specialist will spend most of their time working within Raiser’s Edge but will also be expected to handle basic data hygiene and inquiries within our email system Engaging Networks. In addition, this role will support our Gift Administration department, especially during high volume periods.


Primary Duties:


Data Hygiene and Ticket Resolution

  • Be the project manager for our ticketing system and project management software system– ensure all tickets are responded to and completed in a timely manner
  • Own all basic Raiser’s Edge requests including updating constituent biographical information, deceasing supporters, updating solicit codes and ensuring our do not mail lists are complete, etc.
  • Update email address and other basic biographical information in Engaging Networks to ensure it matches Raiser’s Edge as needed
  • Work closely with the Assistant Director, Database Services and Gifts Administration to create and implement regular mass data hygiene updates including change of address, constituent code, and other biographical details
  • Master Raiser’s Edge import and global change functions to facilitate bulk updates, create actions, add or updates event lists, etc.


Reporting & Fundraising Support

  • Be the primary point person for the rest of the Development team for Raiser’s Edge and Engaging Networks basics – this includes helping the team learn the system as needed for their role, setting up queries, reports and dashboards, etc.
  • Ensure data practices align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Design Raisers Edge reports, queries and exports as needed/requested
  • Create and distribute standard daily/weekly/monthly reports
  • Generate required donor lists as needed for philanthropic giving, digital engagement, donor stewardship and marketing strategies
  • Provide data insights, prospect lists, and analysis to support donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies
  • Work with various stakeholders to analyze business processes and make recommendations to improve efficiency


Other

  • Collaborate with outside agencies as needed for report development
  • Regularly audit existing reporting and make recommendations for enhancements or new analysis
  • Partner with stakeholders to propose ways of maintaining data and coding in various systems for better data management and reporting
  • Support the Assistant Director, Database Services and Gifts Administration in ongoing gift data entry, governance and data hygiene


Who you are:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 3 years’ experience managing data analysis and reporting, preferably in RE
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, including ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret data
  • Advanced knowledge of RE and Excel a must
  • Ability to document policies and procedures and communicate complex technical information
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • You are a good cultural fit for a close-knit team. You are collaborative, direct, and comfortable working in a smaller organization where everyone is visible.

Salary Range: $65,000 to $75,000
