What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manufacturing Engineer position at American Technical Services, Inc?
Our client is on a search for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. The client company has been in business for many years and is a proud 1 tier manufacturing supplier for some of the most well knows OEM products. This position will encompass a large range of engineering concepts with a core focus on machining, welding, fixture design and production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with AG equipment
- Production processes in a manufacturing setting, low to mid volume
- supply chain management support & sales quoting
- Machining, welding, broaching, grinding and fixture design
- GMAW welding of carbon steel up to 1" thick of materials
- Knowledge of AWS and weld quality requirements would be a plus
- Automation operations and integration systems including robotics, and hydraulics/pneumatics
- Working knowledge of metals and material grades, specifically carbon steel
- QMS knowledge including ISO, ISIR, PAPP, Warrants, material compliance and traceability
- Corrective action implementation through 8D methodology
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and MS Office products. Draft sight or other 2D based software for floorplan visualization a plus
- Supporting existing automation systems including troubleshooting and vendor support.
- Production technical assistance to identify, assess, and resolve manufacturing challenges
- Fixture conceptualization, cost estimation, design, and build oversight/support with a focus on Poka-yoke principles
- Interpret GD&T print requirements and integrate them into manufacturing processes
- Familiar with agricultural equipment (CNH or John Deere).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering, metal fabrication or design plus 10 years of work experience.
- Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.
