What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer position at American Technical Services, Inc.?
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Manufacturing Engineer-metal fabrication, welding and
machining. Production process engineering/manufacturing in a low to
mid-volume job shop environment. Working knowledge of metals and
material grades, specifically carbon steel. Experience with rubber
products is a plus. Welding, machining, and assembly fixture design.
Automation integration, operation, and support which includes robotics,
hydraulics/pneumatics, and custom systems. CNC machining, broaching, and
grinding operations. GMAW welding of carbon steel up to 1\" thick
material. Working knowledge of AWS and general weld quality requirements
a plus. QMS knowledge for risk management containment and customer
satisfaction including ISO, ISIR, PPAP, Warrants, sustainment planning,
material compliance/certification and product traceability. Engineering
assistance for sales/quoting activities focused on machined and
fabricated parts. Supply chain management technical support. Corrective
action implementation through 8D methodology. Lean Manufacturing
principles. Familiar with agricultural equipment (CNH or John Deere) a
plus. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor\'s or
Associate\'s degree in mechanical/ag engineering, metal fabrication or
design plus 10 years of work experience. Strong business acumen for high
level decision making through engineering resourcefulness and
influential leadership to align strategic planning and manufacturing
strategies with company expectations and fiscal objectives. Adaptable
and flexible through critical thinking and problem solving to best meet
the needs of the business as well as customer expectations. Manage
multiple projects; prioritize work with minimal supervision in a
fast-paced environment. Identify opportunities for improvement by
ongoing evaluation of existing equipment, vendors, manufacturing
processes, and fixtures. Provide support for quoting activities and
review customer data for manufacturability considerations. Interpret
GD&T print requirements and integrate them into manufacturing processes.
