Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain a variety of precision machining equipment, including CNC Kinetic machines, to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint interpretation, and mechanical knowledge will be essential to ensure parts meet strict specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines such as CNC Kinetic machines, ensuring optimal performance.
- Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code, CAN programming software, and Fanuc controls to produce complex parts.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to accurately manufacture components.
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control inspections.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools; adjust tooling as needed for precision machining operations.
- Conduct quality inspections during production runs to verify dimensions and tolerances meet specifications; document measurement data accurately.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, welders, and other equipment necessary for assembly or finishing processes.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency while maintaining safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of machine setups, production logs, inspection reports, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on prototype development or tooling adjustments using SolidWorks or CAD software.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Machinist working with CNC machinery such as CNC Kinetic machines.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and utilize measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control.
- Familiarity with CAM programming software for toolpath generation; experience with SolidWorks or other CAD programs is advantageous.
- Knowledge of metal machining processes is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with basic math skills for precise calculations related to machining operations.
- Experience in welding or grinding is beneficial.
- Ability to work safely with power tools, hand tools, forklifts (certification preferred), and other manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment.
