We have a great client looking for Desktop Support, focusing on both hardware and software issues, along with providing front-line troubleshooting for PC, network, and system issues. This role requires knowledge of key IT systems and technologies and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with IT teams to provide effective solutions to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with provisioning and maintaining hardware, software, and cloud/on-premises infrastructure.
- Offer troubleshooting for PCs, networks, and business applications, especially Microsoft-based systems.
- Participate in hardware refreshes across the enterprise.
- Follow ITIL best practices for maintaining a high-performance environment.
- Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring timely updates on tickets and issues.
- Collaborate with peers and teams to provide quick and efficient resolutions to problems.
- Document common issues and implement systems with necessary configurations.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate’s degree in computer technology or related IT field OR 4 years of desktop support experience for those without a degree.
- Experience: Broad familiarity with Microsoft systems (Windows, Office 365, Active Directory), virtualization (Hyper V, VMware), Citrix, and basic network technologies (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across multiple devices, knowledge of VPNs, MFA, and networking protocols.
Technical Knowledge (KSAs):
- Systems Software: Proficiency with systems such as DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and more.
- Security: Some familiarity with IT security concepts.
- Networking: Basic understanding of LAN/WAN and troubleshooting.
- Soft Skills: Communication skills, both technical and non-technical; strong attention to detail; ability to collaborate; organizational skills; and proactive learning.
- Must be available for 24-hour calls and extended workdays/weeks •Requires some travel and occasional overnight trips •Ability to work extensive hours at a computer terminal •Requires lifting to forty (40) lbs.
- Occasional Travel – Company Vehicles. The farthest they'll go is 150-160 miles and, very occasionally, an overnight stay
- $25.00 to $29.00 an hour DOE
