The Low Voltage Structured Cabling Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating costs associated with low voltage cabling projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, preparing detailed cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers and clients to ensure accurate and competitive bids. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structured cabling systems, excellent analytical skills, and experience in cost estimation and project management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for low voltage structured cabling projects
- Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs to determine project budgets. Research and obtain pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare and present detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and project timelines. Ensure proposals are competitive and aligned with client requirements
- Work closely with project managers, designers, and clients to clarify project scope, resolve issues, and provide technical expertise
- Conduct on-site evaluations to assess project requirements, identify potential challenges, and gather information for accurate estimations
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bid proposals, and correspondence. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and organized
- Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and market conditions to provide accurate and competitive estimates
- Review and verify estimates for accuracy and completeness. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with AutoCAD a plus, but not required
- Current BICSI RCDD certification a plus but not required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating low voltage structured cabling projects
- Strong understanding of low voltage cabling systems, including data, voice, and video cabling, as well as industry standards and best practices
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, strong analytical and mathematical skills, and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and team members
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Job Compensation and Details:
- Pay- $80-95k annual salary with year bonus based on office performance
- Shift Time and Days- Day Shift, M-F
