Security Service Tech

American Sound is seeking a skilled Security Service Technician to join our team in Covington. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining surveillance, access control, and other low-voltage security systems. Working closely with clients and our operations team, you’ll ensure systems are restored to peak performance and that service needs are met with efficiency and professionalism.

Job Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with installed security systems
• Perform repairs and replace faulty components in surveillance, access control, and related low-voltage systems
• Update and configure software, firmware, and system settings to restore full functionality
• Document all service work performed and communicate findings to project managers or service coordinators
• Maintain an organized work vehicle and inventory of common service parts
• Provide professional, client-facing support during onsite visits
• Ensure all work complies with industry standards, local codes, and company safety policies
• Stay current with manufacturer updates, service bulletins, and new technology releases
  
  
  

Job Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, and work on ladders and aerial lifts as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience servicing and repairing commercial security systems (surveillance, access control, alarms)
• Proficiency with reading and interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams
• Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls per day
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination
• Familiarity with industry tools, test equipment, and safety practices
  
  
  

Job Compensation and Details:

• Salary- $30-38/hr with potential bonus at year end
• Shift Time and Days- 7am-3:30pm, M-F
• Travel to work sites as needed
