Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations within the organization. This role involves entering journal entries, overseeing accounts receivable and payable, utilizing financial technology systems, and handling select finance-related administrative tasks. The Bookkeeper ensures timely reconciliation and accurate reporting of all financial statements while maintaining comprehensive fiscal records. Additionally, the Bookkeeper serves as the primary contact for internal staff regarding invoicing and related financial inquiries.
Duties
- Manage daily accounting operations, including entering journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable processes to ensure timely processing and collections
- Utilize financial software and technology systems to record transactions, generate reports, and support financial management
- Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts regularly to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Prepare and assist in the reporting of all financial statements in a timely manner
- Maintain organized fiscal records for audit readiness and internal review
- Serve as the main point of contact for internal staff on invoicing matters, providing support and clarification as needed
- Assist with other finance-related administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance or accounting role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in financial software systems (e.g.,Intaact, Salesforce, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills for liaising with internal staff regarding invoicing and financial inquiries
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or relevant field or certification or coursework in accounting or finance is preferred
Pay: $55,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
