The American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) is a nonprofit medical organization committed to advancing cardiovascular ultrasound to improve lives. ASE is seeking a full-time Member Services & FASE Manager to join our Membership Department.
Position Summary: The Member Services and FASE Manager serves as the staff liaison for the FASE, Training & Certification Advisory Committee, and is responsible for the implementation of projects related to furthering the FASE certificate program and member retention activities tied to ASE's strategic and operational goals. This position will build ASE’s retention activities and increase ASE’s retention of members through excellent membership engagement, customer service, and marketing. This full-time, exempt position will report to the Director of Membership and has potential for a remote work schedule, however, occasional travel to ASE’s Durham, NC office may be required. Candidates must live in one of the following states to be considered for employment: NC, SC, VA, MD, DC, GA, or TN.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Member management (Approximately 70%)
- Design and implement dues renewal process.
- Create targeted marketing plans to build retention.
- Keep members up to date on member benefits through communications.
- Analyze membership types to derive targeted membership campaigns.
- Process member applications.
- Responsible for outreach to group memberships including serving as primary contact for organizations, producing invoices, securing payment, processing memberships, and reporting of program ROI.
- Assure accuracy of the membership data by careful input, tracking, and review.
- Reliably produce membership reports, respond to membership inquiries, and manage member data linkage to websites and other 3rd party platforms.
- Develop surveys to support retention and data on lapsed members and report findings.
- Support member engagement by tracking and utilizing data to develop services to enhance members professional needs.
- Serve as primary contact for all 3rd party vendors associated with renewal campaigns, including but not limited to mail houses and telemarketers. Assist with any RFP or bidding process related to these vendors to ensure appropriate pricing.
- Oversee and develop member renewal budgets including securing pricing, tracking expenses, and reporting outcomes.
- Process monthly journal reports and invoices for Elsevier and review to ensure accuracy. Serve as primary contact for member issues related to journal delivery.
- Provide support to the Marketing Department by gathering member testimonials, collecting member responses to surveys or feedback on new benefits and products.
- Support strategic goals by increasing membership recruitment outreach and assisting in the development of attractive benefits for targeted prospects.
Volunteer Support (Approximately 20%)
- Management of the FASE, Training & Certification Advisory Committee and Program, including coordination of meetings, minutes and reports, applicant recruitment, processing of applications, acknowledgments, and handling of questions and complaints.
- Coordinate fulfillment of orders for FASE plaques, certificates, ribbons, pins, etc.
- FASE budget preparation and monitoring.
- Work with the Marketing Department to create FASE ads, promotional videos, and other ways to increase applicants and awareness of this program.
- Filing of FASE and membership related documentation electronically as required.
- Oversee details related to FASE lounge, ribbons, and FASE recognition (plenary and program) details at annual Scientific Sessions.
- Support other committees, task force, and groups as assigned.
Other Functions:
General Administrative (Approximately 10%)
- Support the organizational structure of ASE by attending staff meetings, working on task forces, seeking and attending professional development opportunities, working in a team atmosphere and cooperating with other staff members, completing minutes, meeting summaries, paperwork, and timesheets in a timely manner.
- Keep current of all the latest membership techniques and employ them as deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrate high quality standards for ASE membership department activities and customer service
- Contribute to other projects and tasks as needed in support of ASE’s success.
Travel:
- Travel to ASE meetings and other exhibit venues may be required for this position. Occasional travel to ASE’s Durham, NC office may also be required.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Experience: Three to five years’ experience with member and volunteer management required. Experience with a professional membership association is required.

Physical Requirements:
Job requires frequent sitting, and repetitive hand and wrist movements. Must be able to work a variety of hours to accommodate volunteer activities.
