Paid On-the-Job Training / Pathway to RPSGT Certification
We are currently seeking a Full Time ( 3 nights per week, 7pm-7am) Sleep Technician Trainee. The ideal candidate will have a desire to excel and provide the highest level of patient care to our patients. No prior sleep experience is needed. This position offers on the job training designed to prepare qualified candidates to sit for the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) exam within 18 months of experience, providing an alternative to a traditional 2 year college program.
Responsibilities include:
- Collect, analyze and integrate patient information
- Determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.
- Review the patient's history and verify the medical order.
- Follow sleep center protocols.
- Perform patient education and instruction.
- Review and evaluate sleep studies and provide feedback to staff
- Follow HIPAA policies to maintain the privacy and security of patient information.
- Comply with professional standards of conduct.
- Collect data and document observations of sleep every thirty minutes.
- Evaluate clinical data.
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and desire to excel
- Must have or obtain CPR certification
- Learns quickly and takes initiative
- Is dependable and team-oriented
- 2 years of prior patient care experience
- Prior experience on third shift preferred
