American Sign & Lighting is hiring an experienced Electric Sign & Lighting Service Technician to join our commercial service team.
This position focuses on diagnosing, servicing, and repairing illuminated signs and commercial lighting systems. Candidates do not need to hold a Journeyperson or Apprentice Electrician license, but they must have relevant hands-on sign and lighting service experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnose and repair electrical signs and commercial lighting systems
- Troubleshoot sign outages, wiring issues, power supplies, transformers, ballasts, LEDs, lamps, and related components
- Operate a bucket truck or aerial lift to access signs, parking-lot lights, building lighting, and other elevated equipment
- Install, replace, and repair illuminated sign and lighting components
- Trace electrical problems and recommend effective repair solutions
- Complete work safely, accurately, and efficiently
- Communicate professionally with customers and the service team
- Document completed service work
What We’re Looking For
- Previous hands-on experience servicing electrical signs or commercial lighting
- Bucket truck or aerial lift experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience working with electrical wiring and illuminated sign components
- Ability to complete field-service calls with limited supervision
- Valid driver’s license
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship
- Ability to commute to Milford, Delaware, for in-person field work
Preferred Experience
- Illuminated cabinet signs
- Channel letters
- LED sign systems and retrofits
- Parking-lot and exterior building lighting
- Transformers, power supplies, ballasts, contactors, and photocells
- Sign installation and removal
- Commercial electrical service
- Working at heights using bucket trucks or aerial lifts
Important
This is an electrical sign and lighting service position. Experience limited to vinyl lettering, graphic production, vehicle wraps, or non-electrical sign fabrication does not meet the primary requirements for this role.
