American Village Corp. has an opportunity for a General Construction Worker to join our experienced construction team.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a qualified candidate who possesses skills and experience in general construction. The candidate would be responsible for overseeing various construction projects from the very early stages, all the way to completion. American Village Corp. prides itself on using in-house labor for as many areas of construction as possible. Because of this, the candidate we are looking for should have a wide range of skills, and a constant drive to expand that skill set. The candidate would physically build shops, houses, and apartment buildings either alongside our team, alongside sub contractors, or both. The candidate would be responsible for overseeing subs and assisting the jobsite in any way necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Current Driver’s license
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Ability to speak, read and write English
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner; both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be ambitious and willing to take initiative
  • Experience with Drywall, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to operate various heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of work safety practices

Essential Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Use Hand tools such as hammers, shovels, measuring tapes, levels, etc.
  • Use powered tools such as saws, nailers, drills, etc.
  • Use ladders or work aloft.
  • Move gravel or earth either by hand or with equipment.
  • Lift 50 pounds overhead
  • Build dwellings or other buildings based off a set of architectural plans.
  • Organize jobsite to expedite work.
  • Clean, organize, and maintain construction tools.
  • Deliver, organize, or move various construction materials.
  • Represent American Village Corp in a positive and professional manner at all times. This includes interactions with venders, sub contractors, or cutomers.
  • Work and build in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws (IBC, IRC, OSHA, etc).
  • Purchase goods/services/supplies as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned by American Village Corp. or its officers.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
