Duties
- Safely operate box trucks and other commercial vehicles with manual transmissions to deliver contents efficiently across multiple routes
- Load and unload items using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual lifting techniques, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols
- Plan and follow optimized delivery routes to maximize efficiency and meet delivery schedules
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups
- Verify delivery documentation, obtain signatures, and ensure accurate recording of all transactions
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform routine inspections, and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Assist with warehouse organization, including moving stock and managing inventory as needed
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport contents, equipment, and materials.
- Assist with packing, inventorying, and handling customer belongings when needed.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues.
- Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and inventory transfers.
- Maintain communication with supervisors regarding schedules, route changes, and job updates.
- Follow all company safety policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, where applicable.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times.
- Assist with warehouse organization and storage activities as needed.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with box trucks or similar commercial vehicles
- Strong background in customer service with excellent communication skills
- Prior warehouse experience involving heavy lifting, moving, or inventory management is highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating manual transmission vehicles preferred
- Familiarity with forklift operation and pallet jack use is a plus
- Knowledge of route driving best practices and safety regulations for heavy vehicle operation
- Ability to lift heavy loads repeatedly and work in physically demanding environments
