We have 17 locations to serve our customers. Corporate headquarters and the main distribution center are in downtown Marietta, Ohio. Branches are in Cleveland, Columbus, Sunbury, Cincinnati, Portsmouth, Toledo and Lancaster Ohio; Huntington, Martinsburg and St. Albans, West Virginia; Pittsburgh, PA; Louisville and Glasgow Kentucky; Ferdinand, Indiana; and Wixom, MI.
American Producers Supply is looking for a Purchasing Agent/Buyer to work at the Marietta, OH office.
Wage is based on experience.
Responsibilities:
-Communicates with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery of goods and services
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions
- Monitor and analyze market trends and conditions to anticipate changes in pricing or availability of goods and services
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance
- Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers regarding delivery, quality, or pricing
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in using purchasing software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting
