Service Electrician – Full-Time (Hourly)

Position Summary
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Service Electrician to join our growing team at American Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical. This position focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and installing electrical systems in residential and commercial settings. You’ll work directly with customers, ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant solutions while representing the professionalism and integrity our company is known for.
Key Responsibilities – Service Electrician
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial electrical systems.
- Perform detailed troubleshooting to identify issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Install and service electrical wiring, panels, lighting, and control systems.
- Interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics accurately.
- Ensure all work meets current NEC standards and safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with customers and office staff regarding service recommendations and job progress.
- Use diagnostic equipment and meters to verify system performance and safety.
- Maintain clean, organized work vehicles and accurate service documentation.
- Collaborate with other trades when needed to complete cross-discipline service calls.
- Troubleshooting control wiring systems.
Qualifications – Service Electrician
- Minimum 2 years of electrical experience required.
- Strong understanding of NEC codes, safety standards, and modern electrical systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot efficiently and resolve issues professionally.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Familiarity with Eagle, Pitkin, and Garfield Counties is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent attendance and reliability in prior roles.

Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Colorado Journeyman or Residential Wireman License preferred
- Continuing education credits required by DORA maintained with company support
