What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fertilizer Applicator position at American Plains Coop?
American Plains Coop is hiring full-time Fertilizer Applicators for Great Bend Kansas. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient application of both liquid and dry chemicals and fertilizer products. Additional responsibilities include accurate recordkeeping, general maintenance of equipment, and the delivery of excellent service to our customers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Custom application of fertilizers and chemicals per specifications
- Responsible for a basic understanding of all chemicals, fertilizers, and their abilities of control.
- Accurately reads and follows safety PPE recommendations regarding chemicals and fertilizer labeling.
- Effectively manages multiple tasks by organizing orders from customers in the most efficient manner.
- Accurately mixes, loads, and delivers fertilizer products to our cooperative customers in a timely manner.
- Provides excellent customer service by managing complex situations; responds promptly to customer needs, resolves questions, complaints, and concerns immediately, and meets commitments.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record
- Prefer to have a CDL (Class A with Tanker, Airbrakes and HAZMAT endorsements), must have the ability to obtain and maintain one if not.
- Prefer to have 1A Commercial Applicator’s certification, must have the ability to obtain and maintain one if not.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
