Are you an experienced Assembly Technician with a strong mechanical background and a passion for building high-quality equipment? If so, American Piledriving Equipment invites you to join our production team as an Assembly Technician.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Assembly Technician to assemble heavy equipment and machinery used in the construction and foundation industries. In this hands-on role, you will work with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components to build equipment according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience assembling heavy machinery, industrial equipment, or similar mechanical systems. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
As an Assembly Technician, you will play an important role in ensuring our equipment is assembled correctly, safely, and to the high-quality standards our customers expect.
Skills and Requirements:
- 3 years of mechanical assembly experience in heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, technical documents, and work instructions.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, and crouch for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and/or transport 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license.
- OSHA 10-Hour General Industry (CFR 1910) certification preferred but can be obtained after hire.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience assembling heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or similar mechanical systems.
- Experience working with hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics.
- Experience assembling and installing hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, and related components.
- Basic hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience reading mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
- Experience using torque tools and following established torque specifications and assembly procedures.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Excavator or other heavy equipment experience is a plus.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in both indoor manufacturing environments and outdoor areas. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, fumes, oils, solvents, adhesives, paints, and other materials commonly found in a heavy equipment manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, sit, bend, crouch, reach, lift, and use their hands to operate tools and equipment.
Employees must be able to lift and/or transport 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
