Description:

Under the direction of the Operations Manager or designee, the Line Lead 1 is responsible for ensuring their specific line is running smoothly. This individual will be required to assist with the training and development of temporary, seasonal, or regular employees. Working independently and with your team is a requirement to ensure we can meet the demands of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and maintain knowledge of APC’s production/pasteurizing process and the equipment/machinery involved.
  • Act as back up for plant employees as needed due to breaks, illness, vacations, etc.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork with accuracy and accountability by turning in at the end of your shift
  • Machines/Equipment
    • Ensure equipment/machinery is operating properly to maintain the quality and to established standards/customer specifications; adjusting and communicating with Laboratory and Packaging departments as needed.
    • Assemble equipment and perform line set up during start-up and product changes.
    • Shut down machine/disassemble at shift’s end and put supplies away.
    • Properly set up, identifying all forms used according to customer specifications.
    • Make and print PSA and labels
  • Production
    • Start, run, and shut down equipment, completing all necessary documentation.
    • Responsible for all……. How many people are needed for the job and placing those people
    • Work with QA to ensure product is consistent; adjusting as needed, making sure any issues that QA found on your line are corrected
  • Lines
    • Operate lines, at least 3 different lines in Assembly and or production
    • Adhere to the master cleaning schedule and program.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Production Supervisor in training and development of new employees, including instructing new employees on proper procedures, safe working practices and producing a quality product.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Safety Protocol
    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
    • Support safety policies and programs.
Requirements:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a food safety/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working and lead teams

Certification/licensure

  • Forklift certification preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and forklifts. The environment is ventilated, air conditioned, damp, and with vibrations. The ground can be uneven. The employee will rarely be exposed to fumes/gases and/or chemicals. The environment can be dusty and heated. Employees are required to wear the following protective equipment: hard hat, hair and/or beard net, eye wear, cut gloves, and fall protection hear when necessary. The employee is performing the job indoors 95% of the time and 5% outdoors.
