Building upon deep expertise in evidence synthesis, standards development, and advocacy, the Manager leads major projects, guides policy strategies, oversees content development, and ensures alignment with ANE goals. This role supervises or mentors’ specialists, represents ANA in national forums, and collaborates with senior leaders to shape organizational positions on key nursing and health policy issues.

What You Will Do
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of projects related to nursing practice, workforce issues, and policy priorities.
- Translate emerging evidence and national trends into strategic recommendations for ANA leadership.
- Oversee workflows for developing practice guidance, position statements, regulatory comments, and legislative testimony.
- Ensure work aligns with ANE’s strategic plan and enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Provide guidance, oversight, and informal supervision to Specialists and Senior Specialists.
- Coach staff on research methods, evidence review, writing quality, and policy analysis.
- Support team capacity planning, workflow coordination, and professional development.
- Coordinate with Government Affairs to shape federal and state advocacy efforts.
- Represent ANA in high-level external meetings, coalitions, professional forums, and regulatory engagements.
- Partner with Communications, Government Affairs, Research, and ANA Enterprise teams to ensure consistency and impact of nursing practice messaging.
- Provide consultation to C/SNAs, Organizational Affiliates, and ANA staff.
- Oversee creation of high-impact reports, position papers, briefs, publications, and strategic communications.
- Ensure all outputs are evidence-based, aligned with standards, and accessible to diverse audiences.
- Analyze how policy trends and practice developments affect ANA’s programs, revenue streams, and member value.
- Support budget planning, grant activities, and strategic prioritization for practice initiatives.
Education
- Master’s degree in nursing degree required. Doctoral preparation (DNP, PhD) or equivalent experience preferred.
- Current, unrestricted RN license
- 6 years of progressive nursing practice, policy, regulatory, or advocacy experience.
- Proven experience developing policy documents, standards, or high-level guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and influence cross functional teams.
- Experience synthesizing evidence, analyzing trends, or contributing to practice or policy materials.
- A track record of increasing responsibility, leadership, or influence in prior roles.
- Experience representing an organization at national level meetings or coalitions.
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff.
- Prior involvement in organizational strategy or program development.
- Advanced analytical and evidence-synthesis skills.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and communication abilities.
- Ability to translate complex clinical, regulatory, or policy topics into clear, actionable guidance.
- Demonstrated cultural agility and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong business acumen with ability to inform organizational strategy and resource decisions.
