Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Flexo Press Operator role based in Ontario, CA. The Flexo Press Operator will set up, operate, and monitor flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality labels according to job specifications. Daily tasks include mounting plates, mixing and loading inks, adjusting press settings, and performing color checks to maintain registration and consistency. The role involves inspecting printed materials for defects, making real-time adjustments to ensure quality standards and certifications are met, and completing required production and quality documentation. The Flexo Press Operator will also assist with preventive maintenance, support press changeovers, collaborate with pre-press and finishing teams, and follow all safety and housekeeping procedures on the production floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Set up and operate flexographic presses (Arsoma, Nilpeter, OMET, Aqua Flex) according to job ticket specifications.
•Mount printing plates, install dies, load substrates, and set web tension, registration, and color.
• Mix and match inks to approved color targets; verify color against approved standards.
• Monitor print quality throughout the run (registration, density, die-cut, slit) and make adjustments as needed.
•Perform efficient job changeovers to minimize downtime and material waste.
•Inspect finished product against specifications and approved proofs; document and flag nonconformities.
• Record production quantities, waste, and downtime accurately in LabelTraxx.
• Perform operator-level preventive maintenance and keep the press and work area clean (5S).
•Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of machine guarding and PPE.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Preferred
•2 years operating flexographic presses in a label, packaging, or printing environment.
Experience with servo-driven and UV flexo presses.
• Ability to read job tickets, work instructions, and measuring tools.
• Strong color perception, attention to detail, and basic shop math.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Standing for extended periods; lifting up to ~40 lbs; manufacturing floor with noise, inks, and moving machinery. PPE required.
• Familiarity with ERP/MIS systems (LabelTraxx a plus).
• Experience in an ISO 9001 environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
