What You Will Do
- Collaborate closely with the HR department, and other key stakeholders (e.g., legal, and business areas) to deliver practical compliance advice and solutions
- Advise on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, helping ensure compliance with wage, benefit, hiring, notification, and recordkeeping requirements
- Conduct risk assessments with HR and business areas to define testing, monitoring, and remediation strategies
- Lead compliance audits to uncover compliance gaps and partner with stakeholders to implement corrective action
- Facilitate ongoing compliance discussions and coordinate updates and data reviews
- Develop, deliver, and maintain employment policies, procedures, and training programs
- Support key HR compliance programs and initiatives, including legal and regulatory change management, I-9, immigration, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, HR compliance policies and training, and HR compliance data reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Preferred certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Hands-on experience with HR compliance programs (e.g., I-9, immigration, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, policy development, training, and reporting), preferably within a compliance or HR setting
- Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
