| Position Summary | The Southwestern Research Station (SWRS), located in the rural community of Portal, Arizona, is a non-profit biological field station owned by the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. We have been in operation since 1955. Our primary mission is to encourage and support biological research and conservation. We host researchers, students, workshop, courses, and naturalists from around the world. Primarily, we provide room and board, laboratory space, technical equipment, and support facilities for those studying the extraordinary biodiversity of the Chiricahua Mountains and surrounding environments. The SWRS is seeking a part-time Research Project Assistant to support a 5-year seasonal research project involving the life cycle of frogs. This project is in partnership with the University of Nevada, Reno, Arizona Game and Fish Department, Ladder - A Ted Turner Reserve, The Allen Family Foundation, and Ball State University. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
The expected salary for the Research Project Assistant is $20.00/hour. This position is overtime-eligible. Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization, and depth and scope of experience. |
